Our Role Mission Statement | Accomplishments

The Stuart/Martin County Chamber of Commerce plays a significant role in the growth, business climate and economy of our area. Martin is one of the most respected counties in the state. The programs and activities of the Chamber are vital to our lifestyle. The Chamber is proud of the benefits and services we provide to Martin County and our 1,300 plus members.

The Chamber's services range from providing maps and information for visitors to demographics and statistics for potential new and existing businesses. The Chamber was appointed Film Liaison Office and certified Camera Ready by the Florida Dept. of commerce in 1990. The responsibility of the office was turned over to the County in 2000.

The Chamber actively recruits members to serve on its committees. They include State and Local Governmental Affairs, Ambassador, Transportation and Finance. The Education Committee was honored by the Florida Dept. of Education for its "Mentor Program" in 1991 & 1992. The Chamber then applied for a non-profit status. It subsequently became a 501-C Corp. and eventually the Education Foundation of Martin County, giving it a life of its own. We were awarded "Florida's Best" by the Florida Chamber of Commerce for our Business & Education Partnerships in 2003 for our Job Tap program.

Whether appearing before the City or County Commissioners or lobbying the State Legislature or Congress on issues affecting business, or providing scholarships for local students, those volunteers involve the Chamber in all aspects of community life.

LEADERship Martin County, established by our Chamber in 1990, a program affording participants the opportunity to learn about Martin County and how it operates, has provided over 600 new leaders for our community since it began.

The Stuart/Martin County Chamber of Commerce is a member of the countywide Council of Chambers, an organization consisting of the five county Chambers of Commerce, formed to discuss common issues, provide unified effort in speaking out to represent business interests of the area. The Chamber works with the Economic Council of Martin County and is a founding member of the Business Development Board of Martin County. Throughout our site, you will notice many organizations adding to the quality of life Martin County offers.
