WAWA – JULY 11, 2019

As a Wawa tradition, the newest location at 981 SE Federal Highway, Stuart, opened with a bang. The Stuart/Martin County Chamber was on hand to assist with the ribbon cutting, while Wawa team members and the community came out to celebrate the special day.

The Stuart Fire Rescue team was able to retain their Wawa sub making trophy, by beating out the Stuart Police Department, at the Wawa Grand Opening on July 11^th. Wawa awarded both teams $1,000 each to donate to their charities.

At the Wawa Grand Opening on July 11^th, the Stuart Police Department worked diligently to create sub sandwiches faster than the Stuart Fire Rescue team. Unfortunately for them, the Fire Rescue team was victorious.

Martin County Commissioner Ed Ciampi and Stuart Mayor Becky Bruner led the local community and staff of Florida Oceanographic Society in welcoming the Coastal Center’s millionth visitor on June 14^th. Executive Director Mark Perry welcomed the Michigan family with a ribbon cutting celebration and offered free admission to all attendees that day.

THREE LITTLE BIRDS – JUNE 13, 2019

Tami Gordon and Terri Henson, owners of Three Little Birds celebrated their Grand Opening with a Stuart/Martin County Chamber ribbon cutting on June 13^th. The restaurant was packed with Chamber members and customers enjoying their delicious lunch, as the staff worked hard to provide excellent service. Mario Murgado, owner of Infiniti Stuart and Audi Stuart, announced the opening of their newest dealership, featuring Alpha Romeo and Maserati, with a first class groundbreaking event. Prominent members of the community and the auto industry were treated to a gourmet luncheon held at the site. The opening of the dealership is scheduled for October, 2019.

The project has been many years in the making; being approved, disapproved and approved again. Customs agents conducted tours of the facility, including the holding cells which are used to detain suspicious individuals. The Customs office is projected to open in January 2019.
