there are many ways to give this holiday season

How to be a Beacon of Hope This Holiday Season

You may not believe that you can make a difference in the lives of others this holiday season, but we hope that by the time you’re done reading this blog post that you change your mind. Read this blog post to see which one inspires you to bring joy to others.

Make an Anonymous Donation

Do you know of a family who’s struggling in your circle of friends or at your place of work? Maybe you’ve heard it through the grapevine that they’re strapped for cash. This is a great opportunity for you to do something charitable for people you know. You can either leave an envelope with money in it in their mailbox, drop a box of food off at their house, or leave some toys on their porch on Christmas Eve. No one has to know it’s you, which is important if you feel that pride will prevent the family from accepting your donation.

Give Food to Soup Kitchens

Soup kitchens are usually run by local churches, so as you can imagine, they do not have a surplus of money. Whenever you're grocery shopping, purchase a few extra items and drop them off at the soup kitchen. If you have a larger budget, then donate more items.

Donate Supplies to Women's Shelters

Women's shelters are always in need of supplies like shampoo, shower gel, and feminine hygiene items. Take some time this holiday season to purchase these items for the women in need in your community. When you’re shopping for these products, remember that children might live there with their mothers, so pick up some candy and Christmas toys as well.

Pay Dog Adoption Fees

Dogs and cats also need your help this holiday season. In fact, some of the local shelters may not be receiving as many donations due to the financial impact of the pandemic. While you can always donate food and blankets, it would be fantastic if you could pay the adoption fee of a dog or cat there. You can also get your friends and family involved and pay for the adoption fee of more than one shelter animal that way.
